Mordhau is timing based system, less emphasis on weapon momentum and physics than Mount and Blade. For Honor uses a lock on system and is more like a fighting game as other users have mentioned. Neither M&B or Mordhau is like For Honor. There are also other mechanics such as feints (somewhat similar to M&B), morphs, and chambering (which M&B also sort of has). The idea is that by mixing up your accels, drags, and normal speed attacks you will throw off your opponent's parry timing allowing you to beat their parry. Again Mordhau is a timing based system so think of accels and drags as the game version of sneaking your attack around someone's parry IRL. The other core difference in Mordhau is the ability to accelerate or delay (drag) your attacks to an extent. Where as in M&B if you are in someone's face and try to hit them with a spear the strike will likely glance off of them. Your parry lasts about 1/3 of a second as Mordhau is a timing based system.Īttacks in Mordhau will do the same damage regardless of your momentum / speed (with the exception of horse combat). Mordhau you don't have to angle match, but you do have to be looking in the direction of the strike. M&B to block or parry an attack you have to flick in a direction to match the angle and you can hold your sword out to parry indefinitely. If you played Chivalry, the combat in Mordhau is generally similar, but with the jankyness of Chivalry combat removed and not being 6-7 years old. The core difference is that Mordhau is a timing based combat system, M&B is directional / more physics based. Mordhau is not similar to Mount and Blade. I've played both so I'll tell you what I can.
